Insomnia undiagnosed: Insomnia lasting so many years becomes a very important health issue. You should consult your doctor about finding the cause of your insomnia. Ask about a consultation with a specialist and be seen for a sleep clinic evaluation. You could have e.g. Sleep apnea or some other disorder causing the insomnia. Treating the cause is your best course of action.

Proper evaluation: Insomnia could be related to many things. You would need to get properly evaluated to see if there is a secondary cause of your insomnia. Certain illnesses and drugs including alcohol can cause insomnia. This could also be a primary sleep disturbance.
