Hypermobility: The ligaments that help in bending our fingers and thumbs pass through a very narrow set of passages at each of our knuckles. If there is any inflammation, there may be a clicking sound. In addition, some people have hypermobility at their thumb joint causing the tips to move past the normal range of motion. this can be accompanied by popping and pain. Overuse contributes.
