A member asked:

My orthopedic took a x-ray on my lower back and told me my growth plates are closed and i stopped growing taller i am 17 years and i am a boy i thought boys stop growing at age 20 please tell me if there is a chance to grow at least 2 inches?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: My preferred place to evaluate growth centers is the wrist/hand since there are so many to see & published standards. Growth stops in men between 16-18 for most, rarely longer in some. If the growth centers are closed you cannot grow taller.
