A member asked:

I am 7 weeks pregnant. have spotted lightly once 2 weeks ago. but now have more red blood than previously. no cramps. what should i do? what is normal? must i go to the er?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

7 w pregnant ?'s: Spotting or bleeding at 6-8 weeks of pregnancy may indicate a lack of progesterone being made in the placenta. Ask your OB physician about a quantitative HCG level to make sure the pregnancy is growing well. Your OB may also prescribe oral progesterone if the HCG level is normal.
