Basics: There are some simple rules to follow. Schedule visits instead of walking in. Show up early enough to complete any paperwork before the scheduled visit.Be aware of your own insurance limitations/co-pays& comply with them. Be honest with answers at any visit. Understand the docs treatment plans before leaving & try your best to follow it. Pay your bills. .

Make a list : I agree with the excellent advice already given, but I would tell my patients to make a list of important topics to discuss at the visits, then determine which is most significant so we can focus on what is meaningful. Sometimes the lists are quite long and that is why it helps to know which is most helpful in improving quality of,life.
