Yes, but not much: Pneumotization of sinus (a drop downward of sinus floor) happens over a long period of time (years) due to the air breathing pressure, not because of the extraction. Best healing during extraction is when there is minimal colleral damage (bruising of tissue, fracture of bone socket wall, infection in the area). Control the infection and the healing would be fine.

Upper Molar removal: Can involve the floor of the sinus- the tissue of bone/ sinus membrane is sometimes thin. I some cases there is an actual opening into the sinus after tooth removal. Your dr. Should alert u to this issue if noted & give instructions. My patients are told not to blow nose "hard" for about two weeks &use decongestants as needed. Socket is packed w resorbable Cellulose or collagen if deemnecessary.
