Diverticular bleedin: Diverticular bleeding occurs when one of the blood vessels in the "pouched out" section of the intestine is torn or damaged and begins to bleed. Embolization cauterizes that vessel so it will no longer bleed. (permanently) Unfortunately there are many blood vessels in the intestines and any one of the others can be damaged and begin to bleed. Managing the Diverticular disease reduces this risk.

Limits : There are limits and very few permanent fixes in medicine. I suspect what they meant was to fix the bleeding from that vessel at that time. Diverticulosis may affect any portion of the bowel and fixing one area would not fix all. Bleeding may reoccur.
