My 85yo mother was given grilinctus syrup for dry cough without examination. the cough subsided but she developed fast laboured breathing due to lung congestion. her bp used to be 142/100 what could be the cause n remedy?

Go to the ER ASAP: Fast labored breathing in an 85 yo person is a medical emergency. You need to take her to the Emergency Department for immediate evaluation and treatment.
