Variable: That would depend on the individual. Typically, once an infectious agent has been killed off, the immune system will take some time to clear the "debris" left over (including dead virus or bacteria, cells that have been damaged and excess mucus or fluids that have been produced. Depending on the severity of the infection this can take a few weeks to months.
