A member asked:

Can i consume caffeine if i have untreated sleep apnea? i want to be careful of cardiovascular strain.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Treat OSA: Please get treatment for the OSA ASAP because there is a significant cardiac risk in allowing thus to go untreated! Caffeine in the evening may interfere with sleep but should not have a negative effect on OSA itself. Sleep at a 45 degree angle, in a recliner or in 2 pillows until you get a CPAP to assist your breathing. If you were advised to,avoid caffeine for your heart, then avoid it.
