Discontinue vaseline: A visit with your pediatrician or a virtual visit may be helpful. The diaper rash may be related to a yeast infection and sometimes is associated with thrush. Discontinuation of the vaseline and using Desitin diaper cream with zinc oxide is advised. Nystatin is used for infections caused by Candida. Please discuss with your pediatrician. Keep the skin clean and dry, open to air as much as possible

My 7 month old baby has developed a rash on her cheeks and chin. It is very red. I thought it was because of drooling as she is teething, but it just flared up suddenly and didnt respond to vaseline as a barrier cream.
