I've had a pain in the left-side of my neck, which extends slightly to my left shoulder & the top of my arm, for 3 weeks. it is only noticeable when i am in certain positions & there have been no other symptoms. i am in my late 60s. please advise!

Radiculopathy: You may have a bulging intervertebral disc or arthritic spur pressing on a nerve root in your lower neck. An MRI would be helpful in diagnosing your problem. You could try wearing a soft neck collar if there's significant pain on neck motions. A neurologist can evaluate you and order appropriate tests and discuss treatment options like physical therapy with traction depending upon the findings
