Your son is smart.: It is important to be selective in what you eat and to stop when you are full. Your son's body may select food that he knows is what his body needs and stopping when full is an asset. The most important thing is to give him nutritious food that he enjoys and as long as his growth pattern is appropriate for his age there is no reason to worry.

Age-related: Parents of toddlers of your son's age notice a decreased appetite in their children which is mostly physiologic. Just realize toddlers need 3 meals and 3 snacks and their eating habits are typically erratic. Be sure to ask your child's provider if he follows normal growth pattern!
