A personal or family history of trauma, previous hospitalizations, drug use, psychiatric hospitalizations or treatment, should all be discussed. Also, specific illnesses like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, etc. Are important, because hallucinations can have many causes ....Drugs, genes, trauma, etc.
