I have high cholesterol and am on a treatment using statins. i take 20 mg of atorvastatin and ecotrin blood thinner. which is the best birth control pill or option? i have started taking yaz.yaz does not work with cholesterol meds . what can i take?

Internist or GP: I wasn't aware of a contraindication between statins and oral contraceptives. There are other options to use for hyperlipidemia depending upon how severe and significant the problem is in each case. I doubt your gynecologist would be experienced in the use of these other agents so you would have to consult your GP or a specialist like an internist or cardiologist to prescribe and follow up.
