My daughter was born with a malformation on her ear, they think it is vascular but are not sure as they say none of them have seen such a thing before?

Without more....: ....Information, there's not much that anyone here is going to be able to say. The best advise i can give is if that it's disfiguring it's likely a good plastic surgeon can help down the road. If it's not disfiguring, then my main concern would be about her hearing. Have you discussed this with your pediatrician yet?

Ear malformation: With an ear malformation it obviously important to check her hearing. Secondly, she should have an ultrasound of the kidneys to rule out the possibility of a kidney malformation.

Congenital vascular: Malformations require evaluation by a team of specialists: pediatric cardiologist, ent, plastic surgeon, geneticist & audiologist, + an MRI & studies of blood flow through the lesion prior to surgical removal for cosmetic purposes. A brainstem auditory evoked response to rule out sensorineural hearing loss & a renal ultrasound are needed. Some auricular cvm's are associated with syndromes.
