Hi. i have had a burning sore to the touch toe for months. it keeps me awake at night and hurts when i wear shoes and when i touch it. it has a red spot on it and i don't know why. i have not hurt it. pls assist?

Physical evaluation : This should be seen in person - the red area may be unrecognized trauma and a mild infection or sign of an infection in the joint which is more serious. Gout is also often a cause of great toe pain. Pain in the foot may also radiate from the back. An exam, and some imaging will likely be needed to recommend appropriate treatment
