8yr son has almost weekly episodes of vomiting stomach cramps and headache for quite a few months inbetween days he is v well. hes had abdominal scan and chest xray drs think its migraine worried something is being missed. ?

Basics: Abdominal migraines are a real entity that often precedes migraines in adulthood. Other family members may have migraines or not. Cyclic vomiting is another vague entity that can present in a similar way. The scans tend to rule out the issues that require immediate intervention. Treatments are available but take time to be productive.

Neuro evaluation: Increased intracranial pressure may lead to these symptoms. Please consider having a head CT and Neurologist review his findings. Vision testing and a retinal exam may be completed by his pediatrician.
