A fib: Are you sure it was definite atrial fibrillation? If so it warrants an evaluation by a cardiologist. Testing will include a heart auscultation, EKG and wearing an outpatient heart monitor for 48 hours or more. Untreated atrial fibrillation can lead to dangerous embolic events and raises the issue of pros and cons of anticoagulant therapy in your age group if there are no other risk factors.
