Newborn behavior: It is very common and usually normal for young babies to struggle and cry as they try to pass gas and stool. They are getting used to bodily sensations and trying to coordinate everything. It is reassuring if she is eating well and passing soft stools. It can help to burp her well after she eats as well. Constipation with hard stools is not normal but also quite uncommon at this age.
