A member asked:

Good day, my wife is 9 weeks pregnant. she is experiencing fluctuating fever between 37.3 and 38.1 we have also done the covid test which was negative. what could be the reason? what blood tests can we go for to identify the cause?

Difficult to say: The fact that the COVID 19 was negative does not mean it could not be COVID 19, because the test could be false negative. It may be best to have her evaluated by a doctor than to guess. By taking a good information of her symptoms and examining her it would be easier to determine what more test could be done to make the diagnosis. I hope she gets better soon.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. Wish you both good health!
