Agree with Dr. F: If any one develops breathing difficulty, get the person to the nearest hospital, immediately.

Symptomatic: Please see Dr. Fowler's answer for adults. For children under 5, the answer is similar. Rest, plenty of fluids, acetaminophen or ibuprofen as needed for fever. We generally don't recommend decongestants at this age, but if there is nasal congestion, you can use nasal saline drops.Be sure to quarantine and call your child's doctor with any difficulty breathing or worsening of symptoms.
