A member asked:

What impact would metoprolol succiante 25 mg, have on the body's response to epinephrine during an anaphylactic reaction?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May lessen response: Metoprolol is a beta blocker & works to lower you blood pressure & heart rate. Epinephrine is designed to increase your heart rate & blood pressure. Being on metoprolol could therefore, in theory, lessen your body’s response to epinephrine. That said, of course, if you are exposed to something you have anaphylactic reactions to, plz treat as you’ve been advised regardless of being on metoprolol
