I was stung by a wasp a week ago, and i think the sting area has become infected. it's purple and inflamed. should i get meds for this or should i just leave it to heal on it's own? i've been applying antiseptic cream

Cellulitis: Sometimes the site of the wasp or bee stings can become infected - called cellulitis. Typically it's inflammed but should get better within a week or two. If the redness or discoloration is spreading, or getting bigger then you need to have it looked at by your doctor. Other signs that suggestion infection is fever and worsening pain at the site.

Antibiotc needed: if the area is swollen , red and angry inflamed looking or spreading rash then it seems to require a course of oral antibiotic
