Eval: Actually, I would call your doctor's office and speak with the staff - they will be able to give you a better idea of which option would be the best for proper diagnosis. Also, some doctors are moving primarily to telemedicine. Call and find out. take care.

Nerve: A 3 inch area of symptoms would be unusually small for a nerve impingement. An irritable/slightly inflamed superficial nerve would be more likely. Also have someone check the area for any skin pathology. If no skin lesion,I would hold off on visiting a physician or neurologist at this time unless symptoms change or worsen.
