Normal: True constipation in a newborn is not common. A baby feeding breast milk should have soft/liquidy brown/yellow BM's. If you notice hard, clay like/pellet-like stool then take your infant to DR. Otherwise, normal babies may only poop once every few days or even once a week. This is because your baby is utilizing everything in the breastmilk and has no waste products. Watch weight gain to confirm

Variability: Breast babies can do a little smear every feed or a cradle filler every 7-10 days. Breast milk is a well designed food source compared to formula, where more debris is left over after processing. If he passes rabbit pellets it would be considered constipation but if soft it is not.
