Hi, i have been experiencing an itch down there ever since i have had sex 6 months ago. the itch tends to come and go. i have no other symptoms. i have tried otc meds for thrush and have also been on metronidazole but it didn't help. ?

Azole resistance?: There are several casues of vaginal area itching. Non-response to standard OTC yeast (thrush) meds means either that you have a non-yeast problem, or infection with candida of a type resistnat to the standard "azole" drugs. See a doctor for accurate diagnosis. If yeast is confirmed, as for a treatment that works against resistant strains, such as nystatin, micafungin, and others. Good lucki.
