Yeast infection?: I am puzzled by the treatment you were given. Single dose metronidazole (four 500 mg tabliets, 2 gram total) is not recommended for bacterial vaginosis ("vaginal bacteria"), but is usually used for trichomonas, an STD. Whatever the reason for the drug, it can trigger yeast infections, a common cause of vaginal itching. Contact the doctor treating you for advice, maybe yeast treatment.
