A couple fainting spells back to back last night. went to er, did an ekg, urine, and vital checks only. no bloodwork or fluids. is that normal check up for fainting? was experiencing high emotion prior to fainting. no history of it before.

Fainting spell: It is important to remember that the Emergency Room is for emergencies. They make sure that you are well-enough to be discharged (or otherwise you usually get admitted). The ER sometimes needs to do very big workups to insure that a patient is safe. However, they often don't do comprehensive workups if the person is doing alright, and leave that to the person's primary doctor.
