Photosensitivity?: Sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim (Bactrim) can cause photosensitiivty, which may last longer than an allergic rash. Basically photosensitivity is increased susceptibility to sunburn, so this is especially likely if the burning sensation is mostly on sun-exposed areas and if there is actually redness in those areas; most common in sunny areas like Arizona. Contact the doc who prescribed the Bactrim.
