What effect can mould have on asthma and should someone who suffers from asthma be cleaning it ?

Asthma + Mold =: A problem...If you have asthma and there is mold in proximity to you there is a real chance this will make your asthma symptoms worse...Professional cleaning of mold is important and i would see your doctor to discuss this.
