Gallstones: Gallstones are associated with being female, overweight, forty or more and fertile. All of these associations other than age are associated with estrogen. Women that are overweight have more estrogen, because adipose tissue converts testosterone to estrogen. Also, women with menstrual problems are often estrogen dominant and that can be more associated with stones.
