We all wish we could: There will be no miracles for this unfortunate girl. But medication may help with the movement disorder; a subspecialist consultation will be in order. If this person is a new member of your extended family, then perhaps you can try to communicate as best you can and form a bond; assume she knows more than she seems to show, and can experience the range of feelings the rest of us do.
