Hard to treat: It sounds like he may have something called dyshidrotic dermatitis (keeping the areas dry rather than wet but using moisturizer to avoid excess dryness can help) or a type of psoriasis. Both of these are helped by the Quadriderm which is a type of steroid. He may grow out of the condition eventually but it tends to be a recurring problem. If you haven’t had him see a good dermatologist, do that
