Randomly it would seem my little finger and down the outer edge of the palm of my hand will become numb, what would cause this?

See below: The description you give is consistent with the sensory distribution of the ulnar nerve. This nerve runs from your neck, around you elbow and to the little finger. The numbness could be cause by compression of this nerve any where along its distribution. Talk to your doctor the next time you see them about possible causes or treatments.
