Undigested food: Some foods are not as digestible as others and so can show up in the stool undigested. Corn, which is yellow in color, is a common culprit of undigested food in stool. The outer shell (husk) of corn is made up of a tough, rubbery substance called cellulose. Cellulose does not break down when chewed and the body lacks enzymes to break it down in the gut, and so the yellow husk ends up in the stool.
