Scalp pains: Sharp,shooting scalp pains are characteristic of neuralgia, an irritated/mildly inflamed superficial scalp nerve. This usually resolves in a few days. Ear ache could be due to an infected ear drum or be referred from an inflamed pharynx. A viral infection wouldn't respond to antibiotics. I recommend consulting an Otolaryngologist for evaluation and advice & ?Throat culture, infectious mono tests
