Pain: It is possible you have otitis media, have a doctor check your inner ear canal for infection. If so start antibiotics like cipro (ciprofloxacin) otic drops for 1 week to 10 days.

Depends on age: Depending on age, could be shingles/herpes zoster or viral infection. See MD asap, especially if start to get vesicles/ulcers on area.
