I have brown/black stripes on my finger nails, both hands and the lines are mostly in the middle. they don't appear as one solid line but but multiple faint lines close to one another. big toe nail also has stripes. should i be concerned?

Melanonychia: Melanonychia is caused when the pigment cells, called melanocytes, deposit melanin into the nail. These deposits are usually grouped together. As your nail grows, it causes the stripe of brown or black to appear on your nail. Underlying causes are too many to list here. Some are serious. If you are exhibiting other symptoms, see Dr to determine if underlying chronic disease can be treated
