Normal: Depending on his diet, normal stool can be soft or more firmly shaped, brown, light brown or green. See a Dr if he is having stomach pain, or watery diarrhea for more than 3 days, with or without blood. Keep a food diary and see if you can identify the food or supplement that causes the green color. Green poop can result from meals with green vegetables, like spinach, kale, broccoli, chard, etc.

Basics: Stool color is derived from the ultra green bile added in transit & actions of germs during digestion. It varies through greens to yellows to browns depending on the time/germ action as it moves through. Soft green stools just suggests a rapid movement of poop through the system.
