Rectal bleeding : There are many possible causes of rectal bleeding. If he is constipated and straining to pass stool, he might have hemorrhoids. But it is essential that he have a rectal exam by a qualified health professional as other causes need to be ruled out. You should have him inform doctor if he has pain, itching, mucus in stool, blood separate or mixed inside stool etc.
