Pregnancy is related to ovulation, which in a regular (ovulatory) cycle, is thought to occur 12-14 days prior to the onset of menstruation. You are either pregnant, particularly if you had unprotected intercourse at the time of ovulation, or, particularly if a pregnancy test is negative or you had no exposure, you are experiencing anovulatory cycles.
