Asthma/pnuemonia: Asthma treated with salbutamol (asthavent) and steroids(sereflo), can still have breakthrough exacerbations which can lead to pnuemonia. If your cough and wheezing are bad, use the asthavent every 4-6 hours over 3-5 days. If the pain persists, it may be that that an infection may have moved into your lungs. See a Dr for a chest xray. They may treat signs of infection with antibiotics.

Review asthma plan: Please contact a physician right away, avoid smoke and other triggers. Use the salbutamol two puffs to four puffs to relieve your symptoms and contact your PCP. Continue to use the medications as directed. Your asthma flare up may need to be controlled with an oral steroid. Urgent care centers may also be available to assist in your asthma management. Watch for signs of fever, chills and worsening
