Lipoma: A lipoma is a benign tumor comprised of fatty tissue. These noncancerous lumps develop just below the skin, and they appear pale or colorless. Lipomas usually feel soft and easily moveable. They are not treated unless they are interfering with your function or are cosmetically unsightly. Excision involves the Dr making a small cut in the skin and removing the lipoma. Then the cut is stitched up.
