Sometimes a: woman can have a very early pregnancy. But the blood level of HCG is too low to trigger a positive on a pregnancy test. So the pregnancy can't be diagnosed yet. However, given more time (usually around time that a period is missed) the HCG should be high enough to accurately show if the person was pregnant. Take care.
