Lots of tests: They do a lot of bloodwork during the first prenatal visit - don't worry, that's normal. They're checking for anemia, blood type and lots of other things. Most standard blood tests come back in about a week. I tell my patients if they don't hear after 2 weeks, the should call and check up on the results.
