Progesterone: Depo-provera contains progesterone, one of two hormones which help regulate menstruation and fertility. Irregular bleeding is unfortunately a common side effect of progesterone. Most persons on this med report easing of symptoms after 3-4 months. Take Ibuprofen for the menstrual cramps and talk to your dr if the symptoms persist.
