Chronic Post-Op pain: Hernia recurrence or neuralgia due to injury or entrapment of a nerve near the surgical site are two of the more common reasons to experience pain after a hernia operation. Other causes are possible, but these are the ones. A follow-up evaluation with the operating surgeon is suggested.
