General rules: To affect the fetus any medication/drug must enter the bloodstream where it would then be carried to the fetus. None of the OTC creams or lotions have anything that penetrates the skin deep enough to enter the blood. Most of the topical steroid creams are also okay, but you can discuss this with your doc.
