Recheck BP: If you truly have essential hypertension, then yes, you are at risk. But some people have white coat hypertension, meaning their BP is elevated b/c a doc visit causes anxiety. I'd check my BP a few times a day for a week to make sure. How high was your BP? (u can by a BP cuff at the pharmacy or online.)
